London, Sept 19 (ANI): Another naked photo shoot has taken place, and this time it involved over 1,000 people stripping and floating in one of the world's saltiest seas - the Dead Sea.
The picture was taken by Spencer Tunick, who has photographed hundreds of people in the nude at landmark locations like the Sydney Opera House and Mexico City's Zocalo Square.
The idea behind the naked shoot was to raise awareness of the diminishing water levels of the Dead Sea.
"It was a dream of mine to do that work. It's because I felt that as the water level is dropping, people have to stay on top of the land and soon they won't be to enter the water anymore because there will be no water," the Telegraph quoted Tunick as saying.
The local Dead Sea Council, which saw Tunick's installation as too provocative, tried to prevent it from taking place but to no avail.
The aim was to shoot the installation before November, when people all over the world will be able to vote by Internet the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The Dead Sea is on the short-list. (ANI)
