Delhi's 27-member squad for National cross-country (Capital Sports)
A 27-member Delhi contingent left for Goa On Wednesday to take part in the National cross-country meet, scheduled to start from February 16. According to Delhi Athletics Association (DAA), the following athletes will be taking part in different individual and age-group events.
Men (12 km): Sunil Choudhary, S Narindran, Jai Bhagwan, Ashok Kumar, M Sadir and Sanjay; 4 km: Manoj Kumar, Khem Ram, Vikas and Pawan Rathi.

Ravi Brothers CC 99 in 36 overs (Arjun Chouhan five for 12) lost to Kishan Ganj CC 103 for five in 33 overs.

Ankur Julka’s fine all-round performance (3/23 and 47 runs) helped Venkateswara College beat Ram Lal Anand College by eights wickets to enter the semi-finals of the Maharishi Dayanand Trophy.

An unbeaten knock by Dhruv Shorey (71) and a fine half-century by Devender Singh (50) guided Young Friends Club to beat Shanti Sports Club by nine wickets to enter the semifinals of the Khushal memorial day/night under-17 cricket tournament.

Inter-College T20 cricket tourney
An inter-college Twenty20 cricket tournament will be held in the Capital from February 28, at Bharat Nagar ground. Interested colleges should contact Sunil Rana (9312375203) or KK Tiwari (9911506133) before February 20.
The tournament will be organised under the aegis of Manav Chopra Sports and Cultural Society and Mulayam Singh Youth Brigade.
SAI trials for Alwar centre
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) will conduct trials to select upcoming sportspersons for its training centre at Alwar from Thursday. The three-day trials will be held for both regular and day-boarding schemes from 14-19 age-group.
The trials for the residential scheme will be held in athletics, basketball, volleyball and kabaddi (boys only) while for the non-residential scheme, trials will be held in boxing only.
Mohit, Aakash lead FAPS to RG Williams finals
A five-wicket haul by Mohit Pandey (5/15) and an all-round performance by Aakash Sudan (46 and 3/15) helped Frank Anthony Public School (FAPS) to register a 119-run victory over Balaji Academy in the semifinals of the ninth R.G. Williams memorial cricket tournament played at the Frank Anthony School ground.
The scores: Frank Anthony Public School 217 for nine in 40 overs (Kapil Sachhar 81 not out, Akash Sudan 46) beat Balaji Cricket Academy 98 in 24.4 overs (Rupender Soni 40, Mohit Pandey five for 15).
Tarera’s fiver in Cavalry Red’s victory
Guillermo Tarera slotted in five goals as Cavalry Red defeated Horse and Wagon 9-8 in the Pool ‘B’ league match in the Maharaja Sir Pratap Singh Cup 14-goal polo tournament at the Army Equestrian Centre ground here on Wednesday.
Simran Shergill and Tunku Ismail Ibrahim scored two goals each for Reds. Horse and Wagon lost the game despite Angad Kalaan’s, who ended up as the top scorer of the day, seven goals. Samir Suhag was the other scorer for Horse and Wagon.

Hindustan Times will fight it out with Times of India in the final of the fifth Indian Women’s Press Corps table tennis tournament on Thursday. In the semifinals on Wednesday, Times of India beat Indian Express ‘B’ and Hindustan Times defeated PTI by an identical scoreline of 3-0.
