Dhaka, Sep.7 (ANI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh left Dhaka on Wednesday evening after completing his maiden bilateral visit to Bangladesh during which the two sides signed a number of agreements, including one to resolve the long-standing border problem and a framework to enhance cooperation on development.
He and the Indian delegation were seen off by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 6.10 p.m. local time.
Before departing, Singh was given a ceremonial guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent drawn from three services of the Bangladeshi armed forces. He also inspected the guard of honour.
During his visit, Singh had bilateral one-to-one talks and delegation level talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He also visited the war memorial dedicated to martyrs of the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. He also met Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dipu Moni and addressed faculty and students of Dhaka University. By Smita Prakash (ANI)
