London, Sept 5 (ANI): Google has paid a tribute to Queen frontman Freddie Mercury with an animated doodle featuring the group's mega-hit 'Don't Stop Me Now' on what would have been the late icon's 65th birthday.
The newest Google doodle features several pictures of Freddie in various outfits and poses with the "Google" overlaid on the photos.
When you press the giant play button in the middle of the doodle you are transported into an animated Queen concert with Freddie at the piano.
The animation shows Freddie on a shooting star "leaping through the skies", riding a tiger "defying the laws of gravity", sitting on a throne and at one point even surrounded by mustachioed bears.
At the end of the song Freddie floats down from the atmosphere back to the stage in an angelic white outfit.
The animation took three months to produce and is reportedly the second longest moving doodle.
Freddie died in 1991 of bronchopneumonia brought on by AIDS.
"Freddie was fully focused, never allowing anything or anyone to get in the way of his vision for the future," the Mirror quoted Bandmate Brian May as telling Google.
"He was truly a free spirit. There are not many of these in the world. To achieve this, you have to be, like Freddie, fearless," he added. (ANI)
