Tourists flock to Udaipur to catch a glimpse of overflowing lake

Udaipur, Sep 4 (ANI): With the water overflowing from the gates of the Fateh Sagar Lake, tourists flocked to Rajasthan's Udaipur city in large numbers on Sunday to catch a glimpse of the panoramic view.

The monsoons had drenched the city, causing a rise in the level of water in various lakes. This occurrence is considered to be the climax of excitement for most of the residents.

Tourists expressed their happiness over this rarity, which occurs once every year.

With water levels rising inch-by-inch, tourists awaited the moment when the raging water level touched the pinnacle.

"This lake is overflowing after a very long time and we are very happy about this. A lot of tourists are coming here to catch a glimpse of the overflowing lake. This is a very beautiful sight and people come from far-off places to see this panoramic view. We feel very happy when the lake overflows," said Isaad Ali, a tourist.

The panoramic view of the lake overwhelmed the people, arousing nostalgic feelings among visitors who frequent the lake every year.

"All the lakes are overflowing today. We have specially come here to see the lake. We come here every time the lake overflows. It had overflowed in 2005, 2006, 2010, and now this has happened again. It is a very picturesque sight. Lot of people have already come here," said Sohan Gaur, a tourist.

Udaipur, also known as the 'City of Lakes' has a historic as well as a cultural significance. This city attracts domestic and foreign visitors on a regular basis. (ANI)
