My Delhi trip would have affected security: Abhishek
Mumbai, Sep 28 (IANS) Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan, who cancelled his Delhi trip Sunday to promote 'Drona' after Saturday's blast in the capital, says it was a precautionary measure and his presence would have lead to more pressure on security personnel.
'I'd like to express my solidarity with the people of Delhi. We must continue to stand up against acts of terrorism. We were scheduled to go to Delhi to celebrate the launch of 'Drona' merchandise in the Spice Mall and Big Bazaar.
'But my being in Delhi and interacting with huge crowds would create an additional pressure on the security arrangements and the administration. So I have cancelled our promotional events in Delhi on Sunday,' Abhishek told IANS.
'It would also have been insensitive towards the families who have lost loved ones. So we've cancelled the celebrations... People of Delhi - be strong. We are with you,' added Abhishek, who was also to visit the Radio Mirchi office.
'Drona', a sci-fi mythological film, also stars Priyanka Chopra and Kay Kay Menon and is set for Friday release.
