Murray 'relishing the challenge' of playing Djokovic, Nadal and Federer

New York, Aug 31(ANI): British tennis ace Andy Murray reckons that he is ready to take on rivals Novak Djokovic, Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer as the last Slam of the year roars into life.

Murray will begin his US Open campaign today against Indian star Somdev Devvarman,

"I'm starting to understand that rather than looking at these guys and thinking, 'it's such a tough era to be in', I'm relishing the challenge. I've always enjoyed playing them. My goals are to be No.1 in the world and to win Grand Slams," the Sun quoted Murray, as saying.

"It's such a difficult thing to do, but all these things will go to making you a better player. I lost to Nadal in two tournaments this year and Djokovic in Australia. But I'm getting to the later stages very often right now. It's about finding a way to get through those last couple of matches," he added.

Talking about his match with Devvarman, Murray said that he has the benefit of inside information from his friend and hitting partner Dani Vallverdu, who met the Indian several times on the American college circuit.

"He has all the shots, but no huge weapons, like a lot of the college players," Murray said. (ANI)
