Sindh HC issues notices to Zardari, Gilani, Kayani in Pak naval base attack case

Karachi, August 23(ANI): The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to Pakistan's top political and military leadership in the Mehran Naval Station attack case.

On May 22, Taliban terrorists had entered Karachi's Mehran Naval Station, destroying two US-supplied Orion surveillance aircraft and killing ten military personnel during their 17-hour siege of the naval air base.

On Tuesday, the petitioner- Haji Gul Mohammad- argued that the PNS Mehran attack was a failure of the government, the state's security apparatus and its intelligence institutions, the Dawn reports.

Mohammad made President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, and heads of intelligence and armed forces respondents, and asked the court to fix responsibilities for the negligence.

Subsequently, a two-member divisional bench of the SHC issued notices to the respondents. (ANI)
