Pakistan can't afford to take 'competitive' Zimbabwe lightly: Misbah

Lahore, August 16(ANI): Pakistan just cannot afford to take Zimbabwe lightly in the upcoming series despite their return to Test cricket after a gap of six years, captain Misbah-ul-Haq has said.

"I don't take the series against Zimbabwe as easy, as they are a very mature side, and in modern cricket, no opposition can be taken lightly," Misbah said during a press conference along with newly appointed manager Naveed Akram Cheema.

The skipper said it would be a big folly on Pakistani players' part to take "competitive" Zimbabwe easy on the upcoming tour.

"Their [Zimbabwe's] recent performance against Bangladesh in the ongoing series should be taken as a wake-up call, and they have proved themselves to be a very competitive side," the Dawn quoted Misbah, as saying.

Pakistan will play one-off Test, three one-dayers and two Twenty20 matches during their Zimbabwe tour, beginning from August 25 to September 16. (ANI)
