Washington, Aug 14 (ANI): 'X Factor' boss Simon Cowell has donated 80,000 dollars to a fund to help those affected by the riots in the U.K.

Britain's Express Newspapers group has established a special fund for the riot victims as a part of the 'Reclaim Our Streets' campaign, which has the backing of generous celebrities like England football ace Wayne Rooney, wife Coleen and Cowell.

"A lot of families and businesses desperately need some help right now and I back any campaign which achieves this," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

A number of people have been forced to shut down their shops to repair the damage caused by the riots which began on 6th-7th August, spreading across the country as thugs attacked city centres, smashing windows, looting shops and setting buildings on fire. (ANI)
