Cargo ship M.V. Sinin captured by Somali pirates in February released

New Delhi, Aug 13(ANI): M.V. Sinin, a 52,000 tonne Malta flagged and owned bulk carrier, which was hijacked by Somali pirates in February, was released today.

 

According to the Ministry of Shipping, total crew of 21 persons, including nine Indians are safe.

 

"The ship owners have provided for replenishment of stores/fuel and security for the vessel to reach Colombo by about August 19, where the vessel is likely to be dry docked for extensive inspection," the ministry said in a statement.

 

The ship was attacked by Somali pirates 315 nautical miles off Masirah (Oman) on February 12, when she was on a journey to Singapore from Fujairah (UAE). (ANI)
