KIIT University- All set to celebrate its Annual Techno-Management Fest, Kritansh'08

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar is all set to celebrate its Annual Techno-Management Fest, Kritansh’08. The Fest kicks off with an inauguration ceremony on the 16th of February by the Chief Guest, President of Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. It spans through 3 days and closes on the 18th with the Chancellor’s Banquet, which is a dinner for all the participants of the Fest.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology is a well-established name in the global academia. Right since its inception in 1992, it has been on the charts as one of the fastest growing universities of the country. With the University status granted by the Ministry of HRD and UGC, it entered the Limca Book of Records as the youngest University. Ranked 37th among the technical colleges of India, it has 10 sprawling campuses spread over an area of about 175 acres. The institute boasts of the first eco-friendly wireless e-campus in the eastern region and is credited with raising the overall standard of education in this region. It has been host to distinguished visitors like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Former President of India, Prof. Richard R. Ernst, Nobel laureate in Chemistry, the entire Indian National Cricket Team, Ramdevji Maharaj, the yoga guru and many others.

Kritansh is the flagship event of the institute. It provides a platform for budding engineers and entrepreneurs to interact and compete with each other. The fest signifies the genesis of ideas and embodies the spirit of innovation. It gives a glimpse of the technological advancements of mankind.

Kritansh was a phenomenal success in its very first incarnation in 2007. Some 5000 participants revelled in the spirit of Kritansh’07 and this year it is sure to be even bigger and better. This techno-management fest is a star youth attraction and students from all parts of the country participate in it.

The Fest has an array of events such as Robotics competitions, Paper Presentation, Coding Competitions, Workshops and Biz events. It also features talks by eminent personalities. India’s Best Known Automobile Designer, Dillip Chhabria, the man who designed the car for James Bond, shall grace the threshold of KIIT with his presence during the fest days. He has the distinction of churning out 450 unique car designs in a span of just seven years. In the guest lecture, Orazione, Mr. Manish Tripathi of the Dabbawalla fame, shall enlighten the audience with his talk on Management Lessons. Besides these, there are some fun-filled events like treasure hunt, musical concerts and games like Tech Tambola, quizzes, etc. The Fest promises knowledge, erudition, tech-experience and lots of fun.

The KIIT campus is abuzz with the preparation and planning spree of the Fest. The mantra of the KIIT-ians is ‘Innovation is hard work plus creativity’. When asked what inspired the fest, a proud member of the organizing team echoed the words of George Bernard Shaw, “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.” The proem of the Fest marks the Foundation Day of KIIT University-16th of February. The enthusiasm and spiritedness of the students indicate that a large crowd will throng the KIIT Campus during the fest days, rejoicing in the spirit of Kritansh and celebrating technology and life.

Celebrations like these keep the lamp of innovation burning in our hearts and ensure the genesis of revolutionary ideas which shape the future of the world and make it a better place to live in.
