Kalam visits Nalanda International University site; CM attacked

Patna, Sat, 09 Feb 2008 NI Wire

Nitish Kumar suffered wrath of villagers of Nalanda where the proposed Nalanda International University Project has been taken, it is reported that a meeting was in motion on Friday when people outside the barricade started hurling stones, slippers and bricks at him.

The villagers those who attacked chief minister complained that they have not been given enough compensation for their land acquired by the government to build the State of Art University.

The police had to lathicharge to control the mob while CM looked unfazed and said “I am undeterred, ready to face more for this project,” also he held responsible anti- social elements for the chaos.

Reportedly even after one year no body has raised this matter to any of the concerned authorities. But CM asked to arrange a meeting with the villagers.

The incident took place when the first appointed Visitor by the Bihar Government former President A P J Abdul Kalam was attending the power point presentation of the university’s progress.

Kalam told reporters, “I am pleased with the site. It is beautiful. We will make it a university of truly international standard... which will be a centre for uniting minds on world knowledge and culture”.

“It would be distinct from other universities because it will have a rare confluence of theology, spirituality, science and technology,” said the first visitor.

Nitish said, “While academic session would take some time to start, academic activities have already started. Doctor Kalam’s visit today was no less than a step towards that academic activity.

Nalanda International University project is a dream project to bring back the glory of Nalanda University, which existed until 1,197 AD and attracted students from all corner of world.

The project has been welcomed by other Southeast Asian countries and world renowned scholar like Noble Laureate Amartya Sen, Meghanand Desai and our only people’s president Abdul Kalam.

Nitish while producing the Bill in Bihar assembly has said, “This (bill), which is not only for Bihar or even India, will act as a facilitator for what will emerge as a centre for renaissance of the east. I strongly feel that the university will become a reference point for international relations and a centre for peace and resolution of disputes.”

The university will start first phase of academic session in 2009 with few thousands of students. It will contain schools of philosophy and Buddhist studies, informatics, basic and applied sciences, development studies, natural resources management, international studies and language studies.

The university which is an effort to restore the past glory in modern context is unfortunately not celebrated by the people. Also the people should be made aware of the project and its implications which has promise to change the image of Bihar.

The University of nalanda has to be a democratic institution spanning all forms of spiritualism and materialism..
The democracy allows individual persuit of spiritual enhancement a complete opposite of a binding theocracy.
There is no such thing as a god and the sermons via his human form prophet in a communal format because if one does not have the spiritual compassion for humans and humanity in any form one has no ability to understand the parameters of developing his own individual free spirit and that is the reason the highest of the authorities has described in Gita...
'The only way one can attain me is by Swarup Dhyan and the discipline of Ashtang Yoga the Sattwa automaticaly guides the individual to enlightment of the true knowledge of performance in karma Yoga whilst sustained in the material oriented life. That individual neither craves for dominance over others nor dictates them to follow his thinking for he is acutely aware that all roads lead to nowhere but me..Be it evil or good I am still the creator of the basic ingredients of the environment in trillions of universes and because I have granted the right to each individual to act per his own grasp in time the action and reaction are by products of individual spirit and not in a mass form.'
According to the scripts of Ancient Maya culture in the Americas and according to the Vedic yuga theories we are coming to the end of an era in Kaliyuga, the age of the evil of a special kind called Theocracy, where Tamas is presented as spirituality, which binds people in to following man created religions rather then release them from the bondage of Ignorance.
Our educational and health syatems are completely eroded of facing this menace and at least Nalanda will be start in the right direction...
regards and god bless

If this university really becomes functional it will be really a proud moment not for the people of Nalanda and Bihar but entire nation.Intellectuals will start coming to Bihar which will help in improving the image of Bihar.People of the district should understand that what they will get after this university becomes functional will be far more than what they have been getting through agriculture.
