Tripoli , Fri, 05 Aug 2011 ANI

Tripoli, Aug 5(ANI): Libyan dictator Muammar al-Gaddafi's seventh and youngest son, Khamis, has reportedly been killed in an airstrike by NATO forces.

According to the Telegraph, a rebel spokesman said that an air attack had killed 32 people including Khamis, who serves as one of the main commanders of the Libyan dictator's military forces.

The rebel spokesman said that the air strike took place at Zlitan, about 160 kms east of Tripoli.

A NATO official said that he was aware of the report, but could not confirm it.

"We cannot confirm anything right now, because we don't have people on the ground, but we are trying to find out what we can," the official said.

Khamis was in charge of the Khamis Brigade of the Libyan army, and was a part of his father's inner circle. (ANI)
