Pak rookie Yasir Shah confident of delivering his best in Zimbabwe

Karachi, Thu, 04 Aug 2011 ANI

Karachi, August 4(ANI): Pakistan leg - spinner Yasir Shah has said he will try to perform to the best of his potential in the forthcoming cricket series against Zimbabwe and added that if given the chance, he would justify his selection in all formats of the game.

"I will try my level best to perform well on the Zimbabwe tour and will use all my skills to justify my selection," the Dawn quoted Shah, as saying.

Shah, who has claimed 148 wickets in 46 Pakistan's first-class matches, said though there would be lot of pressure in the absence of seasoned spinners Danish Kaneria and Shahid Afridi, he would shoulder the burden in the spin department during the Zimbabwe tour.

"They [Afridi and Kaneria] are fantastic bowlers and their absence will be felt. But I will put in my best effort to dent the opposition on the tour," he added.

Shah started playing domestic cricket in 2003 and soon graduated to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa team.

He has also represented Pakistan in the Under-15, U-17, U-19 and U-21 outfits.

Abbottabad Regional Cricket Association President and PCB Governing Board member Aamir Nawab Khan lauded Shah's selection in the Pakistan cricket team.

"Yasir can make the most of his selection in the absence of Afridi and Kaneria," Khan said.(ANI)
