Washington, July 28 (ANI): Scientists have named Franco Zeffirelli's 1979 movie 'The Champ' as the saddest film ever made.
Reports in Smithsonian.com suggested that psychologists studying human emotions in laboratory settings have found that Ricky Shroder's performance in the final scene, where his father, a washed-up boxer played by Jon Voight, lays dying, made their test subjects prominently sad, reports Fox News.
Schroder's weepy T.J. helped scientists discover that depressed people are no more likely to cry than non-depressed people, and that men and women are more prone to spending money when sad.
They also discovered that older people have greater sensitivity to grief than their younger counterparts. (ANI)
