Newcastle United defender Enrique fined 100k pounds for Twitter outburst

London, July 26(ANI): Newcastle United defender Jose Enrique has been asked to pay 100,000 pounds as a fine for his Twitter blast at club owner Mike Ashley.

According to the Sun, Ashley was so angry with Enrique's rant, that he immediately ordered manager Alan Pards to dish out the two-week fine.

"Twitter is dangerous. You can say things when you're emotional, when it's probably not the best time to express your feelings," Pards said.

"I'm all for people expressing themselves, - they just have to be very careful," he added.

Enrique is desperate to quit Newcastle and is in the final year of a 50,000 pound-a-week deal. (ANI)
