Pune, July 232(ANI): Ace Indian shooter Gagan Narang, who notched up four gold medals at last year's Delhi Commonwealth Games, has expressed delight for being recommended for the highest sports award of the country, the 'Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna' award.
Narang, who is preparing for the 2012 London Olympics in, said the honour would motivate him to do better.
"I am feeling very good for being recommended for this award. I think it is an appreciation of my achievements of past two-three years," Narang said.
"Every award is a motivation and this award too will draw inspiration from me. I hope I give even better performance from now on," he added.
The 28-year-old is the first Indian to qualify for the London Olympics.
In August 2010, Gagan had publicly expressed his displeasure after not getting the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, and had threatened to skip the Delhi Commonwealth Games due to lack of motivation. (ANI)
