London, July 21(ANI): Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly under pressure from the club's board to start buying new players.

According to the Sun, some Emirates chiefs are baffled that 11 million pound striker Gervinho is the only major arrival, even though the start of the Premier League season is just three weeks away.

Wenger is being urged to close out some of his deals with shareholders and fans becoming increasingly concerned and frustrated with the lack of transfer activity.

The Arsenal manager failed to land Blackburn's Phil Jones, who joined Manchester United, while the 10 million pound bid for Everton's Phil Jagielka was turned down. (ANI)
