Qatar mediating between Taliban and US on peace talks

Manama, July 14 (ANI): Qatar is mediating for peace talks between the Taliban and the United States.

 

According to the Nida-i-Millat daily, Qatar is also playing a role for conciliation between the Taliban and the Karzai government

 

Taliban's political head, Tayyab Agha, has been meeting with the Qatar authorities, and holding talks in Germany to advance the process, he had started in Doha.

 

His efforts would culminate in holding the Second Bonn Conference in December, the Gulf News reports.

 

A secret meeting was earlier held between a Qatari official and an Afghan government representative.

 

Afghanistan's ambassador to Pakistan Omar Daudzai had represented the Kabul authorities. (ANI)
