New Delhi, July 13 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has forwarded the resignation of Gurudas Kamat, who did not attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Cabinet ministers at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Tuesday, to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil.
Dr. Singh allegedly accepted Kamat's resignation from the Council of Ministers today.
Kamat, who was reportedly upset with the new portfolio of Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation, had on Tuesday written a letter to Dr. Manmohan Singh and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi asking them to relieve him of his duties.
Kamat was earlier the Minister of State for Home Affairs.
The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on Tuesday dropped seven ministers and inducted eight new faces in his Cabinet. (ANI)
