Amar Singh-Narayan Rane meeting fuels speculation
Mumbai, Oct 1 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Amar Singh today met Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane, causing rumours in the state political circles.
Singh's meeting comes in the backdrop of the Congress high command giving a cold shoulder to Rane's plea for removal of Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

The former Shiv Sainik has been eyeing Deshmukh's chair ever since he joined the Congress party in 2005, but his repeated attempts to dislodge the veteran Congress leader have failed.
The meeting took place at Rane's residence Swanand and there was no word from either side on contents of the meeting.
Rane and Deshmukh have locked horns on many occasions, the latest being on allotment of land at Navi Mumbai for Videocon's project.
Moreover, Rane has given rise to speculations about his next political course by inviting Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar for the launch of his Marathi newspaper on October 8th. (ANI)
