Entire Royal family's personal info may have been hacked in NotW scandal

London, July 12 (ANI): Detectives investigating the News Of The World scandal fear the entire Royal family's personal details were hacked.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince Charles and Camilla were warned they were among at least 10 royals including Princes William and Harry who had their voicemails targeted.

It has also emerged that a corrupt royal protection officer had sold personal details about the Queen, 85, Prince Philip, 90, and close aides, to News International.

The officer is said to have taken 1,000 pounds bribes from the Sunday newspaper in return for sensitive information, which could have jeopardised state security.

Sources said he offered to a reporter a stolen copy of the top secret green book, containing the private landline and mobile phone numbers of the royal household.

He also passed on confidential information about the movements of the royals that could have placed them in danger if it had fallen into the wrong hands.

Dai Davis, a former head of the Yard's royal protection squad, said the claims were "horrific".

He said there were suspicions information on the royals was being leaked in the 1990s when he was in charge.

"It was nothing on this scale. To release these personal details is a criminal offence. I do hope the full force of the law is effected against those responsible," the Daily Star quoted him as saying. (ANI)
