The matchless batsman from India reached the feat when he scored his 28th run during the India innings. The little genius has hammered 41 centuries and 87 half-centuries thus far with an average of 44.21 in 409 matches.
The master blaster now have a total of 16007 runs that is beyond imagination for most of his contemporaries to surpass as Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya, who is second in the list of all time top scorers has an aggregate of 12207 while former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq, who is already retired, is third in the list with 11739 runs.
Tendulkar will certainly going to enjoy this status of his for a very long-long time, as the most likely aspirants who can go beyond his record are nowhere near the classy batsman.
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly (11363) is next in the list followed by the most likely contender among all Australian captain Ricky Ponting (10835) and another Indian batting stalwart Rahul Dravid (10585).
It is a matter of time for Tendulkar, who has scored 11782 runs in longer version of the game, to engrave yet another milestone to his credit as he is just 172 runs away from dislodging legendary Brian Lara’s record of highest run getter in the Test cricket as well. Lara has scored 11953 runs in Test cricket.
