Mayawati Govt. has lost its balance: Congress

New Delhi, July 6 (ANI): Criticizing the Opposition parties for terming Rahul Gandhi's 'Pad Yatra' to Bhatta Parsaul village a 'political gimmick', Congress Party on Wednesday said the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)-led Government in Uttar Pradesh has lost its balance.

"The Pad Yatra of Rahul Gandhi has perpetuated panic in the opposition ranks. It is but natural that the BSP government in Uttar Pradesh, would loose its balance and what is indeed intriguing is the reactions which have been emanating out of the Bharatiya Janata Party," Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari.

"Rahul Gandhi is on the dusty trails of Uttar Pradesh, fighting for the rights of the farmers and the BSP government in Uttar Pradesh and the Bharatiya Janata Party in various parts of the country, abusing their office to use government and agriculture land for personal pecuniary benefit," he added.

Terming Rahul Gandhi's second visit to Bhatta Parsaul village to be a political drama, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said if the ruling Congress Party was serious about the farmers plight, it should bring the proposed Land Acquisition amendment bill to the Parliament at the earliest.

"It is a political drama. You can call it as a political stunt. Beyond that it is nothing," said former BJP President Rajnath Singh.

"Since 2007, Congress has been sitting on the bill. If it wants to help the cause of the farmers, it should bring the bill. BJP has already stated that it will support amendments aimed at benefiting the farmers and help the passage of the bill in both houses of Parliament," he added.

Continuing his footmarch in Uttar Pradesh for the second day on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi headed towards Aligarh with the district administration saying his 'kisan padyatra' would be a "clear violation" of prohibitory orders in force if it enters the area. he ruling BSP in Uttar Pradesh attacked Rahul Gandhi for the second consecutive day today terming his padyatra as merely a political drama in view of the coming assembly elections.
