Aamir Khan clarifies on controversy surrounding 'D.K. Bose' song

New Delhi , Mon, 04 Jul 2011 ANI

New Delhi, July 4 (ANI): Bollywood actor and producer Aamir Khan on Monday denied plagiarism claims of the artists' label named 'Bosedk', which has been used in a song titled 'D K Bose' in his latest produced film 'Delhi Belly'.

The film that released the world over on July 1, has received rave reviews for its songs, especially the one titled 'D K Bose'.

Addressing a news conference here, Khan denied that his production house has taken any credit from the art label 'Bosedk' by two artists Jiten Thukral and Sumir Tagra.

"I'm here to acknowledge the fact that this is their label. BoseDK is their label, we have no claim over it at all and our song is in fact DKBose. So, we are in fact making no claim to this label at all. The outcome of this really is, as I see it, is that it's a positive connect between people of different fields," said Khan.

The two parties announced that they had amicably resolved the issue.

"We were actually taken aback when we saw the terminology used in the song and we felt it was really really important to stand by our work. And we shared our concern with Aamir and as an artist himself he understood and appreciated our concern. We both agreed that it was a similar creative impulse that triggered out Bosedk work and the BoseDk song. We gratefully acknowledge his openness and graciousness in resolving this matter," said Tagra.

Thukral and Tagra had registered their work in 2005 and have been working on the project ever since.

The language and the dialogues of the film is something that would appeal to a particular section of the audience especially the youth.

"As far as language is concerned, because I knew from the beginning that a certain language is being used in the film. And as a responsible person I applied for adult certification. Not only did I apply for adult certification, I went out of my way to communicate this fact. Generally, producers fight with the censor board because they don't want adult certificate for their movies. I applied for the adult certificate. And whenever the producers get an adult certification, they then try to hide the fact that his or his film is not of the adult category. But, we have already given a warning or notice to everyone, so that those who have problems or issues with such language do not come to watch the movie. I think that is my responsibility as a producer that I fulfilled," Khan added.

The story is about three roommates and the subsequent situations they are caught in.

Bollywood actor Imran Khan plays the lead and the character named Tashi, a journalist who lives with his friends.

The film also stars Kunaal Roy Kapur and Vir Das.

The film is directed by Abhinay Deo, co-produced by Kiran Rao, Ronnie Screwvala, Jim Furgele and written by Akshat Verma.

The other actors in the film are Poorna Jagannathan and Shenaz Treasurywala.

The song 'Bhaag DK Bose' in the film is one of the most appreciated songs.

The song has received overwhelming response from music enthusiasts.
