Karachi, June 22(ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will hold a meeting to review the list of the board's centrally-contracted players.
The PCB had awarded central contracts to 19 players in March, with effect from January 2011 and announced that it will review them again in June.
"A meeting has been planned to review the central contracts within the next few days," The Express Tribune quoted a PCB official, as saying.
"The selection committee is working on the list, which will be discussed in the meeting with the PCB chief," the official added.
The PCB had earlier ignored senior players including former captain Mohammad Yousuf, former skipper Shoaib Malik, leg-spinner Danish Kaneria and pacer Sohail Tanvir to pave way for newcomers like wicketkeeper Adnan Akmal and fastbowler Tanvir Ahmed.
There are indications that the board may follow the same policy while finalizing a new list.
"Youngsters showing promise will get preference," the official said.
The board had earlier placed the selected players in three categories A, B and C, and the contracts were for six months starting from January 1 to June 30, 2011. (ANI)
