Parachinar, June 20(ANI): Seven people were killed in a US drone attack in Pakistan's Kurram tribal region on Monday.
Local government officials said that the drone fired two missiles on a vehicle.
Five of the seven people are suspected to be militants, The Dawn reports.
Drone attacks are very rare in Kurram, an area where many Taliban militants and their allies have fled Pakistani army operations.
The unmanned drone strikes are carried out by the US on reportedly "high value targets" in Pakistan, but the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has never officially acknowledged the programme.
US officials have defended the strikes as a vital tool in combating terrorism, but critics point out that the bombings have caused massive civilian losses. (ANI)
