London, June 14(ANI): Arsenal Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis has promised a busy few months in the transfer market with the club keen to bolster their squad after what he said had been a profoundly disappointing season.
Gazidis said short-comings of the team, which finished fourth in the Premier League and a sixth successive season without a trophy, had to be acknowledged and rectified.
"We had a season that promised a great deal, but in the end a familiar story began to tell itself. It is very clear we had some shortcomings and we are going to see some turnover of players," The Sun quoted Gazidis, as saying.
"As Arsene has said, it will be a busy close season for the club. It is going to be an active summer. I expect to be busy and Arsene expects to be busy," he added.
When asked if the club had spoken to anybody so far in the transfer market, Gazidis replied: "Yes, many people".
Since lifting the FA Cup in 2005, Wenger's men have lost a Champions League and a Carling Cup final, while never finishing higher than third in the Premier League. (ANI)
