Hamilton relieved about escaping ban over 'I'm black rant'

London, June 10 (ANI): British Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton has expressed "huge relief" at escaping a ban for his recent "I'm black rant".he British Formula One ace could have been suspended for six races for his rant at stewards after being punished in Monaco.

 

But according to The Sun, Hamilton was let off scot free after following up his apology to the stewards by writing a personal letter to motor racing chief Jean Todt.

 

Hamilton, free to race in Canada on Sunday, said: "Any ban wasn't in my mind when I wrote the letter. I had time to reflect on the weekend and I wrote a sincere apology to Jean and to FIA and got a great letter back. After that I was able to put it behind me and I'm grateful to be here." (ANI)
