Former cricketer Shah says planned conspiracy to finish Afridi

Lahore , Sun, 05 Jun 2011 ANI

Lahore, June 5 (ANI): Former first class cricketer Tahir Shah has appealed the Pakistan President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani to look into the issue of Shahid Afridi's retirement, which is a planned conspiracy against him.

Tahir Shah said that the PCB Chief Ijaz Butt and selection and disciplinary committees are biased in Afridi's case and want to destroy his career, which is still bright as he is able to win for Pakistan single-handedly, The Nation reports.

Criticizing the PCB chairman Ijaz Butt, he said as Butt has failed to eliminate match fixing from cricket, he must resign from his post. He is destroying cricket in country and has also destroyed careers of many players.

He also criticized the selector, M Ilyas, for his disputed acts and statement against Afridi and violating code of conduct. (ANI)
