London, June 1(ANI): England manager Fabio Capello has ordered his players to make sure that they end their season on a high by taking a massive step towards Euro 2012 by thrashing Switzerland in their Group G qualifier on Saturday.
Capello took England's first training session on Tuesday ahead of the Wembley showdown.
"The manager has come in and said 'No messing about, we are here to win the game'. People will expect us to batter Switzerland as we beat them 3-1 away from home," The Sun quoted midfielder Stewart Downing, as saying.
"We have got to keep playing the way we have been, pass and move the ball and try to win the game. We were disappointed at the World Cup last year, but the players have responded very well. We were under a lot of pressure and as a whole, the players have done really well," he added.
England's victory over Wales in March had put them back on top of Group G, and in pole position to secure a place for next year's finals in Poland and Ukraine. (ANI)
