London, May 26 (ANI): Three-time winner of the FIFA World's Best Keeper award Iker Casillas has paid glowing tribute to David de Gea, the 20-year-old who will replace Edwin van der Sar as Manchester United's goalkeeper.
Casillas, who captained Spain to glory at Euro 2008 and last year's World Cup, insists De Gea will one day replace him in the national team.
The Sun quoted the Real Madrid star, as saying: "He will soon be fighting for my place. He's a great keeper. We have to take care of him because he is the future. He is 20 years old. He will pension us all off."
Casillas, 30, started out at Real at just 18 and has been in the spotlight ever since during a glittering career.
De Gea, who is joining United for 18.3 million, was in the Atletico first team at 18 and has been the No 1 keeper for the last 18 months.(ANI)
