DGCA starts inquiry into Faridabad air ambulance crash

Faridabad, May 26 (ANI): The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) today started an inquiry into the crash of a small medical ambulance aircraft into a densely-populated residential colony in Faridabad on Wednesday night, killing ten people, including all seven on board.

 

A six-member DGCA team is inspecting the site of the crash and will take charge of all material evidence including the wreckage of the plane.

 

According to sources, the inspector of inquiry will hand over the material evidence to the Court of Inquiry when it will be set up.

 

Three persons on the ground-all women-were among the 10 dead when the P-12 single- engine turboprop aircraft belonging to Delhi-based Air Chartered Services India Limited rashed in Jawaharnagar locality near the IAF station.

 

The aircraft was flying to the Capital from Patna, rushing a seriously-ill patient, Rahul Raj, for specialised medical treatment when the crash occurred at 10.50 p.m, fifteen minutes after it lost contact with the Air Traffic Control at Delhi airport. (ANI)
