London, May 19 (ANI): The iconic 'Chitty hitty Bang Bang' car has been sold at an auction for 807,755 dollars.

The car became internationally recognisable after appearing in the 1968 hit film alongside Dick Van Dyke and Sally Ann Howes.

The car, with the registration number GEN11, has been seen by thousands of fans and has spent more than 30 years competing in charity races in Britain.

Michael Jackson once wished to buy it for his Neverland ranch but owner Pierre Picton refused to sell, as he wanted to keep it in UK.

It went under the hammer for 805,000 dollars at the auction in Los Angeles, reports the Daily Express. (ANI)
