Arab League has no position on Kashmir issue: Envoy

New Delhi/Srinagar, May 17 (ANI): The Arab League's envoy to India, Ahmed Salem al Wahishi, has said that the organization has no position on the vexed Kashmir issue that has dogged relations between India and Pakistan.

 

Talking to media on the sidelines of a peace conference being held in Srinagar on Monday, Ambassador al Wahishi said: "The League of Arab States has no position on the specific question of Jammu and Kashmir."

 

He added: "We look forward for peaceful co-existence, tolerance and dialogue among different civilizations."

 

He refused to answer any further questions on the issue.

 

The League of Arab States is a regional representative body of 22 Arab states in North and North East Africa and West Asia. It was formed in 1945. (ANI)
