Andhra Pradesh bye-polls: 70 percent turnout in Kadapa, Pulivendula

Hyderabad, May 8 (ANI): Over seventy per percent votes were cast in the bye-polls to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly Constituencies.

 

For the first time, webcasting of poll process inside the polling centres was done from 1169 sensitive and hyper- sensitive polling stations, which were watched by the central observers and law enforcing authorities.

 

About 11000 central and state police personnel besides mobile parties and striking forces were deployed to ensure peaceful polling.

 

Bypolls to Kadapa and Pulivendula seats were necessitated as YSR Congress Party President Jaganmohan Reddy and his mother Vijayalakshmi quit as MP and MLA, respectively.

 

The counting of votes will be held on May 13. (ANI)
