London, May 8 (ANI): The newly published 2011 rich list has revealed only half of the UK's 10 wealthiest people are British citizens.
Of the 73 billionaires in the 1,000 strong list, just 40 are British born, reports the Daily Express.
The Sunday Times Rich List is made up of 1,007 men and 105 women who are born, raised or hold much of their fortunes in Britain.
The wealthiest Briton is the Duke of Westminster, who is number four on the list with a fortune of 7billion pounds. He has fallen out of the top three for the first time since 1999.
Other British citizens in the top 10 include Kirsty Bertarelli, the British wife of Italian pharmaceuticals billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli, ranked number five with a joint fortune of 6.87billion pounds, and David and Simon Reuben at number eight with a 6.18billion pounds fortune.
The richest man on the list remains Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal who is worth an estimated 17.5billion pounds.
The second richest is Russian steel oligarch Alisher Usmanov, worth 12.4billion pounds, who owns a stake in Arsenal football club and a 48million pounds mansion in north London.
The third richest is his compatriot and Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich, who has made 10.3billion pounds from oil and industry. (ANI)
