London, Oct 4 (ANI): 'X Factor' stars, who make it to the final 12, will be uniting in producing a song to raise money for forces charity Help For Heroes.

The campaign will be in aid of the wounded troops, and the cover of Mariah Carey's 1993 hit 'Hero' will be the first charity record from the ITV1 reality talent show.According to an insider, music mogul Simon Cowell is determined to push it to No 1.

"I've never heard Simon more excited about anything - there's a real buzz about this single," the Sun quoted the insider as saying.

"It's going to blow everyone away when they hear it," the insider added.

The song will be performed for the first time live on the X Factor on ITV1 on October 25, and it will be judged by Cowell, 48, and fellow judges Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue.

The audience will include war-battered servicemen and women, and the show will be featuring the groups, Chaos, and JLS, and also singer Rachel Hylton, who are competing for the final 12 spots.

The release date for the single has been set as October 27, which will be at the start of the two-week run up to Remembrance Sunday, and Help For Heroes has offered to split the proceeds with the Royal British Legion's Poppy Fund.

"Everyone is thrilled to hear that the X Factor is supporting our boys and girls," Help For Heroes founder Bryn Parry said on October 3.

"We hope that Sun readers will do their bit to make this a hit single and demonstrate that we really care," he added.

The Sun has been behind Help For Heroes since its launch a year ago this week. It has so far raised 12million pounds to help rehabilitate injured troops. (ANI)
