Vice President Ansari condoles demise of Sathya Sai Baba

New Delhi/ Puttaparthi, Apr 24 (ANI): Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari has deeply condoled the passing away of prominent religious leader Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

 

Vice President Ansari in his condolence message said that Baba's words and actions have lit the lamp of love in the hearts of devotees.

 

"I am deeply grieved to learn about the passing away of Sri Sathya Sai. Baba's message of love should be our guiding light in this trying hour. Baba's words and actions have lit the lamp of love in the hearts of devotees," said Vice President Ansari.

 

"His message of service to humanity as service to God and as a means of destroying narrow-mindedness is of eternal relevance. My wife joins me in offering heartfelt condolences to the millions of devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in India and abroad," he added.

 

Sathya Sai Baba, who was admitted to the super-speciality hospital at Prashantigram at Puttaparthi on March 28, following respiration-related problems, passed away at around

 

7.40 a.m. today due to cardio-respiratory failure. He was 85.

 

His body will be kept at the Sai Kulwant Hall for two days for people to pay their homage to the spiritual guru. (ANI)
