Actress Lumley calls on all Brits to help Gurkhas
London, Oct.3 (ANI): British actress Joanna Lumley has issued a fresh rallying cry to all Britishers to ensure that a law is passed to give veteran Gurkhas the right to settle in Britain.
Joanna, who has stood alongside protesting Gurkhas and helped them to win a long-running battle at the High Court in London, was quoted by The Telegraph and The Sun as saying that she feared the Gordon Brown Government's commitment to review all Gurkha immigration cases by the end of the year.
She is, therefore, urging people to sign a petition on her website which she plans to present to Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Joanna 62, whose father fought alongside the Gurkhas in the Second World War, has promised to take her fight all the way to 10 Downing Street. (ANI)
