New Delhi, Oct 2 (IANS) Criticising the Manmohan Singh government, the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday said the India-US nuclear deal was done at the cost of the country's sovereignty and added it would renegotiate the pact if it came to power.
"The deal has been done at the cost of the country's sovereignty and nuclear independence. We don't accept it in its current form," BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy told reporters here.
"If we come to power we would renegotiate (it) on those points which we think are problematic," he added.
The US Senate late Wednesday gave a resounding 86-13 approval to the historic accord visualised by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President George W. Bush over three years ago, removing the last legislative hurdle in its path.
