New Delhi, Mar 25 (ANI): India has expressed deep condolences and offered assistance to Myanmar, where over 25 people are feared dead following a massive earthquake that struck the northeastern part of the country on Thursday night.
"We are saddened to learn about the loss of lives and damage to property in the recent earthquake in Myanmar. India has conveyed its deep condolences to the Government of Myanmar and expressed readiness to assist them in whatever way we can in their relief efforts," said Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Official Spokesperson Vishnu Prakash.
"We are in close touch with the Government of Myanmar in this connection," he added.
A earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter Scale struck northeastern Myanmar on Thursday night, resulting in death of over 25 people, with more damage reported on Friday. However, no tsunami was reported. (ANI)
