Quetta, Mar 22(ANI): Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani has strongly condemned the killings of eleven people by unidentified armed men at a Frontier Works Organization (FWO) camp in Palari area of Balochistan's Gwadar district.
"Those who are involved in this heinous crime were not well wishers of Balochistan," the Daily Times quoted Raisani, as saying.
The chief minister said that those responsible for the incident wanted to push the province into darkness by killing labourers and skilled workers, and added that strict action would be taken against the culprits.
On Monday evening, some eight gunmen riding on four motorbikes had opened fire at the camp, killing 11 people on the spot and wounding two others. The assailants also torched two FWO vehicles.
The victims included seven employees of the FWO and four employees of the National Highways Authority (NHA).
Heavy contingents of the Balochistan Levies, Frontier Corps and other law enforcement agencies rushed to the spot soon after the incident and cordoned off the area, while the injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), a banned outfit, claimed responsibility for the attack. Calling from an undisclosed location, the BLF spokesman warned of more attacks in the future.
In recent years, the BLF has often killed non-Baloch settlers. (ANI)
