Yemen forces 'open fire on protesters'

Sanaa (Yemen), Mar 18(ANI): At least 33 anti-government protesters were reportedly shot dead by Yemeni forces in Sanaa.

 

According to the BBC, 145 protesters were also wounded when government forces opened fire on a group of protesters on Friday.

 

Armed men in plain clothes took aim from positions on top of nearby buildings in Taghyeer Square.

 

"Most of the wounds were to the head, neck and chest," a doctor said.

 

A month of violence has shaken Yemen, with protesters demanding that President Ali Abdullah Saleh step down. (ANI)
