London, Mar 17(ANI): WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye has said that he wants to emulate former undisputed champion Lennox Lewis by knocking out Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko in the same manner as Vitali Klitschko was knocked out by Lewis in June 2003.
Vitali needed 60 stitches to repair four cuts on his face and one in his mouth after a brutal six-round bout in Los Angeles.
When asked if he would like to do to Wladimir what Lewis did to his older brother, Haye said: "Yeah, definitely, just conclusively rip his face to shreds.
And I wouldn't want the referee or the doctor to stop it. I want him to take that 10 count and be completely unconscious."
The 30-year-old further reckons that a victory over the IBF/WBO holder would force Vitali into avenging his younger sibling's humiliation. Hopefully, I'll do the job on Wladimir so his big brother, Vitali, gets all touchy and it hits a nerve. No one likes their brother getting bashed up,
especially with the beating I'm looking to inflict on Wladimir," the Daily Express quoted Haye, as saying.
"I know Vitali's going to be there ringside, in Wladimir's corner, so he's going to see first-hand the destruction that I dish out on his little brother. And it's going to be painful for him to sit back and watch me do it. I wouldn't be surprised if Vitali's the one who stops this fight, gets into the ring and drags his brother out," he added.
Haye and Wladimir are scheduled to fight in Germany on either June 25 or July 2. (ANI)
