Bill Clinton tells voters Obama has 'better answers' than McCain

Washington, Oct 2 (ANI): Former President Bill Clinton made his first campaign trail appearance on behalf of Democratic White House nominee Barack Obama.

Clinton, in his first campaign trail appearance on behalf of Obama, touted the Democratic presidential ticket as the best team for tackling a growing set of national and international challenges.

Speaking at the first of two rallies on Wednesday in the crucial swing state of Florida, Clinton backed Obama as the better candidate to handle the economic crisis, and praised his running mate Joe Biden as a whiz on foreign affairs.

"(Obama's) got a better philosophy, he's got better answers, he's got a better understanding and better advisers on these complex economic matters. He's got a better vice presidential partner," FOX News quoted Clinton, as saying.

The set of rallies was the latest step of reconciliation between the former President and the Democratic presidential nominee.

The Democratic primary was marked by tense, long-distance exchanges between Obama and Clinton, who at one point referred to his Iraq war stance as a "fairy tale" (though it was taken as a comment on Obama's campaign) and compared his bid for president to Jesse Jackson's 20 years ago.

But Clinton gave an enthusiastic endorsement of Obama at the Democratic National Convention in late August.

And while he has refrained from aggressively attacking John McCain or Sarah Palin, citing his admiration for the Republican nominee in recent interviews, he has spoken of a growing respect for Obama.

"I am developing a really good relationship with Senator Obama and I certainly admire him," Clinton told NBC.

Clinton said Wednesday in Orlando that Obama has the better insight of the two presidential candidates on the ongoing financial crisis. (ANI)
