Wellington, Mar 9 (ANI): Former New Zealander cricketer Adam Parore has said that he would make an attempt to climb Mt. Everest to raise funds for a charity, Make-A-Wish New Zealand, this year.

Parore said that he is expecting to raise 100,000 dollars for the charity by climbing the world's highest peak to fulfil his long-time dream, stuff.co.nz reports.

Parore would reportedly leave New Zealand on March 27 for Nepal, where he will spend a month at the Mt. Everest Base Camp to get used to the climate before heading to the summit.

The cricketer has been climbing some of New Zealand's highest mountains to prepare himself for his ultimate aim of scaling Mt. Everest.

Parore has spent two weeks in the Southern Alps learning snow craft and rock climbing skills, and climbed Mt. Haidinger, near Nelson, and Aoraki (Mt. Cook) in December, the paper said.

His training also included two months in the Himalaya's climbing Mt. Manaslu, the world's eighth highest mountain. (ANI)
