In a very light tone Salman said, “Very few Indians have the privilege and it feels good to be a part of it. We have Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya, Shah Rukh and I think I am the third most deserving in the museum.”
“I am really very touched that my fans have chosen me to appear in Madame Tussauds, and hope that the figure brings a lot of enjoyment to Bollywood followers the world over,” he added.
Sculptors have ensured that Salman’s wax statue should appear like the real Salman who initially turned down the offer.
Salman in black vest is looking at his best and according to him the wax model of him has better nose than his. He topped the popularity chart and was voted as the next Bollywood star at Madam Tussauds.
This hunk was voted best among the list of celebrities including Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherji, Karan Johar, Kajol, Lata Mangeshkar, Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham.
Describing the statue as fantastic he said, “It has thicker hair and is more muscular than me.”
This Bollywood heartthrob’s replica costs 400,000 USD and five sculptors took 12 weeks to complete the replica.
Salman took special permission by Rajasthan High Court to travel to London to unveil his wax replica as he is sentenced in a black buck poaching case.
It is estimated that presence of Salman at the museum will increase the Asian visitors of the gallery by many fold.
