Abu Dhabi, Oct 1 (IANS) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to impose lifetime ban on those found using fake certificates to obtain jobs and terminate service contracts of such employees already in job, Khaleej Times reported Wednesday.
The company can also file for compensation against an employee indulging in the malpractice and thus causing damage to the firm, legal advisor to the labour ministry, Tarek Nassar, told reporters.
The move comes after an international university announced that 68 UAE nationals had used fake certificates to secure jobs.
According to the UAE laws, producing fake documents is a punishable offence that can lead to a fine up to 20,000 dirhams ($2500) and prison term up to three years.
